A Year by the River
February 2025
February in Westchester, New York is pretty chilly but even with the ice and cold, life persists on the Bronx River. Lots of Canadian geese find refugee along the river. I gained a deeper appreciation for these birds, who are considered more of a nuisance here rather than a delight. Earlier in February, I spotted a dead goose in the Bronx River, which was rather unsettling given the bird flu reports this year. Although I reported it, I am unsure as to whatever came of it. Either way, I am looking forward to what spring has in store for us. The barren landscape with its mess of tangled branches will soon be full of color.
