A Year by the River
October 2025

October's visit to the Bronx River was a surprisingly colorful, bright treat. I went down to the river late one afternoon.  It was around 4:00 p.m. and this trip would mark my first time visiting the River as the sun was getting ready to set. Yes, I am aware that golden hour is the best time to shoot but I am partial to morning photography sessions. I think I am like my maternal grandmother in that sense- an early bird, and I like to be back at home in my nest early.

The sun was at a point in the sky where it illuminated all the yellow leaves on the trees to beautiful shades of gold.  As I look back at these images, I’m struck by all the ways light found its way into a rainbow.
